Even if the weather is nice in Réunion, it can be cold at high altitudes
In Réunion, the climate is often hot and sunny, but did you know that your paragliding experience with Ouisy will also allow you to cool off? We usually take off from Les Colimaçons, our main site located at an altitude of 800 meters, and can climb up to 1,000 or even 2,000 meters during the flight.
At this altitude, temperatures can drop by 5 to 10°C! Add to that the relative wind (related to the movement of the paraglider) and the weather conditions at altitude, and you'll understand why you may be surprised by a slight chill, even if you were very hot at the meeting point (paragliding parking lot, Rue Georges Pompidou, opposite Kelonia).
How to dress for maximum comfort?
For maximum comfort during your paragliding flight, here are our recommendations:
- For your head : Choose polarized sunglasses. They are essential for avoiding glare from the sun and enjoying the view of the coral and wildlife in the Saint-Leu lagoon. Don't bring a hat or cap, as we provide a safety helmet suitable for your flight
- For your body : Choose a breathable T-shirtpaired with a light jacket or windbreaker. This will protect you from the cool air at altitude while keeping you comfortable
- For your legs : Shorts will suffice for most people, but if you are sensitive to the cold, loose-fitting pants are ideal. In any case, complete your outfit with a pair of sneakers for a safe takeoff and landing
With this outfit, you'll be ready for an unforgettable paragliding experience in Saint-Leu!
